RECENT SUCCESS STORY
In 2023, our team implemented a new practice in which we choose a nonprofit founder from Venice and teach them to write grants. We chose Audrey Faison from Concrete Queenz, who recently joined the Venice Chamber of Commerce, because her organization’s mission of empowering young girls through skateboarding and promoting play equity throughout Los Angeles resonated with us. As Dogtown Fundraising, we also felt particularly stoked to launch this program in support of a local skateboarding nonprofit because we wanted to show our love for Dogtown, the birthplace of the impactful skateboarding that made us who we are today. Our educational sessions gave Audrey the confidence to apply to the LA2050 Grants Challenge and when she won a $25,000 grant from the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, we decided to launch a bootcamp to help more grant-fundable organization leaders like Audrey!
